Here, some common concerns will be discussed, and whether it really is a problem will be explained.
My boards don’t match
In terms of wood feature, every piece of solid wooden flooring and engineered wooden flooring is unique, including the grain variations and the color variations because the unpredictability of nature makes sure that your flooring is a one-of-a-kind.
If you prefer the flooring with a uniform appearance, we suggest you choose stained flooring because the stains can mask the different shades. Normally, the prime grade flooring is great for a more regular look, as it carries less color variation.
My boards have arrived damaged
Usually, it will always be almost at the edges of the flooring boards are damaged. As well as, it is necessary to trim the boards which are too wide or long for your room when you lay the flooring. So, you can try to put those damaged boards in the place where you need to trim them anyway, which means you can remove the damaged parts and trim the excess without unnecessary waste.

My floor has started squeaking

Due to the changing temperatures or uneven subfloors, the flooring can probably squeak if the boards are rubbing against each other. So, it is very significant that your subfloor must be level. The leveling subfloor can ensure a flat and stable floor, which means less than 3mm deviation over 1m square meter area. Meanwhile, the changing temperatures directly impact the moisture levels change in the boards, which causes wooden flooring to expand and shrink.

My boards have arrived warped
The wood flooring will probably warp when exposed to an environment with humidity changing. It is just a common and natural feature of real wood. So, it is essential to let the flooring acclimatize the local environment, which will reduce excessive bowing. In brief, using the bowed flooring is actually perfectly fine. In the installation process, it is important to stagger the joints, ensuring the flooring holds its integrity. However, a professional installer should install the bowed boards without trouble.
My boards haven't arrived in perfect condition
We will take every precaution to ensure your flooring is in the same condition as received when they arrive, but sometimes it is inevitable that the poor handling leads to flooding damage along the way. Here, we are not talking about anything as drastic as snapped boards, just the scuffed dents, and edges. These problems can be overcome.
It can be understood that customers expect perfect products. Meanwhile, we are happy to replace damaged products. My board have damaged joints
Generally, boards’ joints edge will be damaged during the delivery or the upright store of boxes. But it is not a problem because the joints systems of our laminate and engineered wooden flooring can still work efficiently with as much as 50% of the jointing system missing. Hence, you need to clean up the joint and install the flooring without worries about side effects.
There are streaks in my boards
If there are pale strips across the oak flooring appearance, in fact, they are named “Medullary Rays.” These rays are natural structures that carry the fluid from the outer to the trunk’s core. The Medullary Rays belong to the natural appearance of wood in all oak flooring and are one of the charms of oak flooring.
There are three different symptoms, including warping, lifting, and gaps. Actually, they are caused by the same mistakes. So, it is important to recognize them and prevent them. Warping is where the plank cupping or crowning, which means where the center of the plank is low and the edges are high or where the center of the board is high, and the edges are low. Lifting is a term that refers to a board that comes away from the subfloor. Gaps are the term that means the small spaces which can appear between boards after installation.
Firstly, please acclimatize the boards. It will massively reduce the chances of these influences.
Secondly, please maintain a steady level of humidity. Otherwise, there will be problems with the cupping (moisture from below), bowing (moisture from above), and gaps (varying humidity levels) with the flooring.
Thirdly, please leave the 10mm expansion gap around the edge of the room. It is vital for allowing the natural shift of the boards to happen.
You can take diverse steps to return the symptoms of flooring back to normal if you notice any of these symptoms in your flooring about the moisture problem.
Firstly, the moisture should be eliminated. If the moisture is from an above, an open window, a vent, or dehumidifier should all be appropriate. If the moisture is from below, we recommend you call the out-of-service staff with professional treatment.
The flooring should slowly return to a normal state after the source of moisture is dealt with. If it is still a problem, the flooring needs to be lifted part or all. These three things should be done once the flooring boards are lifted.
- Reduce the board size slightly to prevent them from pushing on each other.
- Replace all the boards with a brand new one.
- Refit the entire floor with an expansion gap.
Why flooring squeak & Sound when walking?
The timber sub floor is not firmly attached to the joists that why it makes squeaks when stepping on the floor.
An uneven subfloor can create gaps and voids that will let the floor planks rub against each other and make squeaking noises.
Sudden temperature or moisture or humidity changes will affect wooden flooring, laminate floor expansion, and contraction changes. These changes can result in the flooring coming loose from the subfloor to cause squeaking in the floors.
